Stop Animal Testing Vigil/Outreach #64

  • NY Farm Animal Save 1187 Ulster Avenue Kingston, NY, 12401 United States (map)

Please join us in letting the public know that animal testing is the misuse of science! It's 2022 and people are *still* fooled into thinking testing on animals is the best way to help humans. Many people think animal testing doesn't happen anymore.

Companies that profit off of the pain and torture of innocent animals are evil. These animals are truly the most silent victims. We are bringing awareness to the community - we are bringing the truth of what they do into the light.

Right here, in Ulster Country, is one of the world's largest breeder of animals for use in animal experimentation - Charles River Laboratories (CRL). Half of all animals used in lab experiments are supplied by CRL.

They also conduct painful tests on animals for companies that produce industrial chemicals, pesticides, food additives, and pharmaceuticals. In these tests, the animals are force-fed test compounds, have experimental chemicals smeared onto their shaved skin, and are forced to inhale toxic substances. The animals may endure severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, convulsions, seizures, paralysis, and bleeding from the nose, mouth, and genitals before they ultimately die or are killed.

CRL is the second-largest importer of nonhuman primates into the U.S., bringing in thousands of monkeys who have been stolen from their homes in the wild or bred on decrepit monkey factory farms.

Our goal is to plant seeds, raise awareness and request that they change their model to non-animal testing methods.

Please bring your own mask in case you feel more comfortable wearing it. We can also physically distance ourselves. We will have extra masks on hand, along with gloves and hand sanitizer.

The location we posted is the address for Bed Bath & Beyond, however, we will be standing along Ulster Ave. at the intersection (across the street from Verizon and the Kings Mall Shopping Center).

We have signs - all you need to bring is yourself!
